SGTT.VN - The final lessons, but 8 artworks by 13 students from ADS international Design and Art Center seem reach to the independent thought of artists. The exhibition “Establishing The Instability” is now on view in ZeroStation (www.zerostation.org) and will be ended on 9th July with an open discussion among students, curators, and audiences
“It seems that instability is something that we human beings always worry about. Seen from logic of language, the proposition “to establish the instability” is more than a paradoxical one. However, for us, to establish the instability is the very first step to build a new way of stability where all different things are not be reduced into the same thing. It is this new way of stability that creates an environment where we can live with other’s difference”. This text is quoted from the curatorial essay by Ta My Nhan and Liar Ben ( Phan Minh Tuan), two co-curators of the exhibition “ Establishing The Instability” in ZeroStation since 30th June -9th July 2012.
This exhibition is the final product of a class on contemporary art introduction that was lectured by artist and curator Nguyen Nhu Huy during two months in ADS International Design and Art Center. Besides this class, the students in ADS school also were studied on graffiti art, conceptual photography, and in near future, will be studied artistic film making. All classes are built in a form of sharing experiences, interacting between artists, instructors and students as if in an art project. All instructors are from ZeroStation, or invited by ZeroStation. At the end of each class, there is always an art exhibition or an art project where students become artists and instructors become curators. During the time of studying, students are given the chance to talk, or to participate in workshop conducted by guests artists, international and domestic, who are invited by ZeroStation
This is the first time in Vietnam, contemporary art is introduced systematically in a pedagogical environment. The main target of this introduction of course is not mainly to train students to become contemporary artists, but to help contemporary artists and local audiences to have a chance to see each other in a same space of sharing and labor. It also hopes to form the new local audiences for contemporary art practice in HCMC, and beyond.
The exhibition “ Establishing The Instability” included various different practices of contemporary art such as Installation art; “Thirst” by Phung Quy To (Fashion design student), interaction art; ”The mask” by students group Huynh Do Bao Khanh (interior design student) and Le Duy Linh (product design student), video art; “Cycle of life”

and performance art;
“Unpurified body washing” by Nguyen Bao Hoai Linh (graphic design student)
